Location: Onsite – Limerick Racecourse – Patrickswell, Co. Limerick.
The Role
The Business Development & Marketing Manager will play a key role in growing Limerick Racecourse’s client base, increasing corporate event bookings, and securing sponsorship opportunities. You will proactively generate new leads, convert them into confirmed bookings, and strengthen relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business. Marketing initiatives will support these efforts, with a clear focus on delivering tangible commercial results.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Generation: Proactively identify, target, and secure new corporate clients, sponsors, and event bookings.
- Revenue Growth: Drive increased bookings for Race Days, Conferences, Corporate and non-Corporate Events.
- Lead Ownership: Generate own leads while managing and converting incoming enquiries into confirmed business.
- Client Retention: Strengthen relationships with existing clients to secure repeat and upsell opportunities.
- Commercial Marketing: Develop and implement marketing campaigns that directly support bookings, attendance, and sponsorship growth.
- Event Delivery Support: Collaborate with our team and our partners to ensure client expectations are met, and future business is secured.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present the racecourse professionally to boost visibility and commercial opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in business development and securing new business.
- Experience in marketing that delivers measurable outcomes.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Commercially focused with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent relationship-building ability.
- Knowledge of the Munster business landscape and the horse racing industry would be advantageous.
- Able to work independently, using own initiative to drive business and marketing projects.
- Preferably skilled in website management, PowerPoint, and creating client-facing presentations.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Third-level qualification (Business, Sales and Marketing preferred).
- Minimum two years’ experience in a business development or commercially focused sales and marketing role.
- Strong organisational and client management skills.
