LIMERICK DAY FOUR AT CHELTENHAM

In the winners enclosure for the Albert Bartlett Novices´ Hurdle (Grade 1) was Stellar Story, owned by Gigginstown House Stud, trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Sam Ewing, first festival winner for Sam. Stellar Story was 2nd in Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) on the 26th December 2023.

Galopin Des Champs joined the list of Cheltenham Festival greats when brilliantly defending his Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup crown.

Mrs Paddy Power Mares´ Chase (Grade 2) was won by Limerick Lace, owned by Mr John P McManus, trained by Gavin Cromwell and ridden by Keith Donoghue.

Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Hurdle was won by Better Days Ahead, owned by Bective Stud, trainer by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Danny Gilligan, which gave Gordon his 40th winner of the Cheltenham Racing Festival and Danny his first festival success.

Overall, memorable four days of racing which saw the Prestbury Cup return to Ireland.
