BOYLE Sports & Limerick Racecourse Launch 2025 Munster National & JP McManus Charity Sweepstake

Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker remains the title sponsor for the Munster National until 2028.

The 25th running of the BOYLE Sports Munster National will also see JP & Noreen McManus and family continue support of local charities

Munster National Set For October
BOYLE Sports and Limerick Racecourse today launched the 2025 renewal of the €100,000 BOYLE Sports JT McNamara Munster National, which is set to take place on Sunday, 19th October.

First run in 2001 and one of the feature races of Limerick’s annual racing calendar, the JT McNamara Munster National continues to attract high-quality handicap chasers, with Tiger Roll starring on its roll of honour, having triumphed in 2016.

BOYLE Sports Remain Title Sponsor
In a reinforcement of its support of Irish racing, BOYLE Sports will remain title sponsor of the race and of the two-day October Festival until 2028 and will once again showcase its new look on the racecourse.

A modernised logo forms part of an overall £100m+ investment by Ireland’s largest bookmaker into its online and retail offerings, technology, and sponsorship, including becoming the front of shirt sponsor of Premier League club, West Ham United, for the 2025/26 season.

McManus Team Continues Support
In a continued pledge to their charitable support, JP & Noreen McManus and family will once again team up with the BOYLE Sports Munster National and Limerick Racecourse by hosting a charity sweepstake that will see charities from the Mid-West region benefit by up to €40,000.

Under the initiative, local charities will have the opportunity to enter the JP McManus Charity Sweepstake via jp mcmanus charity sweepstake or via email at [email protected] . Each of the lucky charities drawn will be matched to a horse in the BOYLE Sports Munster National, with the charity matched to the winning horse benefiting from a €20,000 donation.

The 2nd and 3rd place will receive €3,000 and €2,000 respectively, and each of the remaining charities will also receive a €1,000 donation to put towards a specific project or initiative. Limerick Racecourse will also donate 1,500 general admission tickets for the race day to local charities, who can sell the tickets for additional fundraising of up to €30,000.

Speaking about the charity sweepstake, JP McManus said:
“I am delighted that we have this opportunity through the sweepstake to support the very many charity and community organisations who do so much in our community here in the Mid-West.

“I am very grateful to BOYLE Sports and Limerick Racecourse, who have agreed to the sweepstake taking place in conjunction with the BOYLE Sports JT McNamara Munster National. I am looking forward to what promises to be a very exciting and enjoyable meeting.”

Liam McKee, Head of Sponsorship at BOYLE Sports, said:
"We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Munster National and reinforce our commitment to Irish racing. It’s a race that always attracts a field of high-quality horses, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out on October 19th.

“It’s also fantastic to see that JP & Noreen McManus are continuing their support of the charitable sweepstake on the race, and I’m sure the benefitting charities will continue their amazing work with the generous donations.”

Michael Lynch, CEO of Limerick Racecourse, said:
“We are delighted to be continuing our associations with both BOYLE Sports and JP and Noreen McManus for the Munster National Weekend Festival and Charitable Sweepstake.

“The BOYLE Sports Munster National weekend is an important part of our growing racing business and one we are keen to continuously develop and improve. The winning of last year's Munster National by local trainer Eric McNamara’s Real Steel and jockey Danny Mullins created a fantastic and memorable atmosphere for all attendees.”
